Peter Wilson
26th August 1945 - 16th July 2026
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Peter Wilson.
Peter , was an active and loved member of Wetherby & District U3A.
A modest man , a gentleman, intelligent, caring and kind, A family man, who would happily help anyone .
Shortly after joining the U3A, Peter started Psychology Group 1 and he never thought that it would become as popular as it did. Growing quickly to 4 Groups.
He himself did all of the research and found all of the interesting material, which enabled
him to put together the work modules for the rest of the Psychology Groups to follow.
Peter, was also an active member of two of the Walking Groups, Places of Special Interest, Current Affairs, and most recently joined the A.I. Group.
He was an active member of the Wetherby Speakers Club, there he held many roles being Chair on more than one occasion.
For relaxation, Peter enjoyed a round of golf with his friends, being a member of Knaresborough Golf Club.
Peter lived a full, active, interesting, happy life.
He will be sadly missed by many!
Our love and condolences to his dear wife Pat, their children Michael and Sarah and all of their beautiful grandchildren.
Peter’s funeral is planned to take on Monday 17th August at 11am in St Joseph’s RC Church
